Frequently asked questions
What material do you print in?
We print exclusively in high quality white PLA. It gives a crisp, clean finish that shows off fine detail.
What files can I send you?
We accept STL, OBJ, 3MF and STEP model files. You can attach up to 3 files (14MB in total) using the quote form. For bigger files, send a message first and we'll sort out another way to get them to us.
I don't have a 3D model. Can you still help?
Get in touch anyway. Send us photos, measurements and a description of what you need, and we'll let you know what's possible.
How much does a print cost?
Every job is quoted individually, as the price depends on the size, level of detail and quantity. Send us your project and we'll give you a clear quote with no obligation.
How long will my print take?
It depends on the size and complexity of the print and how busy we are. We'll give you an estimated timescale along with your quote.
How do I get my finished print?
We're based in East Cowes on the Isle of Wight. Once you've accepted your quote, we'll arrange the handover with you.
Is PLA strong? Can it go outdoors?
PLA is rigid and great for models, display pieces, prototypes and everyday indoor items. It can soften in high heat (for example in a hot car or near a heat source), so it isn't ideal for parts exposed to heat or heavy loads. If you're unsure, just ask.
Can prints be painted?
Yes. White PLA is a great base for painting. A light sand and a coat of primer will give the best results.
